PUBLIC CONSULTATION ON BESS

Public consultation on BESS – We want your questions or recommendations

As a result of late or potentially no public engagement with Enray Power (Integrum Energy) the Parish Council and Enray have agreed that if they are presented with questions or recommendations they can research and prepare answers prior to any meeting or for further public dissemination.

At the last Parish Council meeting on 9th January, those present were asked to formulate an email to the Parish Clerk with any questions or recommendations they have for the attention of Enray Power to either consider in their plan or to answer.

Recommendations must be constructive, practical and achievable.

Questions must be reasonably answerable plus relevant to the BESS and the existing plans. If you don’t ask you can’t be informed or won’t get.  If they are not clear and constructive, we can’t expect an answer.

We ask that these are submitted to the Parish Clerk prior to 16th January so a constructive report can be submitted to Enray Power.

In relation to other consultations made by the Parish Council, we have tried to seek the view of Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service. These have proved elusive and when first consulted and despite offering to liaise with the Council, all they offered was a National document detailing issues and risks they identify with BESS installations plus advice to developers on how to deal with them.

Although Fire services are not a statuary consultee on planning, Malvern Hills have asked them to comment.  Again, all they have supplied to planning in their response is the National document with no reference to the actual proposed site or any issues pertaining to it.

We have requested HWFRS to engage with us further, asking if they would provide comment and address questions from the Parish Council which we have submitted relating specifically the site and planning application.

We have also asked if they are prepared to attend a meeting for further questions on the BESS, to present any concerns, recommendations or assurances. We are awaiting their response.
