Severn Trent Consultation
A further new water mains consultation has been arranged after a request to the Parish Council from Severn Trent.
This event will be held at the Parish Rooms on Thursday 16th July where the Severn Trent will be there from 4:00pm.
This event is being run with the support of the Parish Rooms as a community event and they will be offering a mini afternoon tea reception with tea, coffee, cake and nibbles.
This is an important opportunity to collectively meet and discuss with Severn Trent the logistics of new mains across the whole of the Parish area, where it will run, what pipelines will be made redundant, dates of work and what disruption there will be. Also and importantly, what supplies landowners and farmers need to have reinstated as new pipes will not be laid across any private land and some supplies and livestock watering may be missed if not identified.
“My name is Angela Boote, and I’m the Community Liaison Officer for Worcestershire/Gloucestershire on Severn Trent’s new Mains Renewal programme. As part of this initiative, we’ll be replacing 870 miles of mains pipe across our regions to help secure a reliable water future and invest in our communities for generations to come.
Over the next five years, we’ll be working across all nine of our regions. One of the first areas identified for renewal is in Tenbury Wells and the surrounding areas, Newnham Bridge & Knighton On Teme where the existing mains have been showing signs of age and causing bursts and supply issues.
We understand that this work may cause disruption, particularly due to necessary road closures, so we wanted to share the detail with you.
Project Timeline & Locations:
We are looking to start the project in your local area in August 2026 and due to complete March 2027
We are inviting the local community to an event to share the maps and work schedules we will be working on and to support them with any enquires they may have about the works. We have invited the Highways to come along and support us. It would be great if you could join us for the event:
